Zen City Morning, our latest submission to the CSS Zen Garden has been accepted.
REH3design is proud to have our latest submission to the CSS Zen Garden accepted. I’ve had several layouts accepted and showcased over the past couple of years, but I’ve never been as excited about a layout as this latest. Zen City Morning is an attempt at producing a layout using more vibrant colors and styles than I normally do in my client work.
I’ve received a few emails already regarding the clouds in the layout (sorry IE users, your browser does not support semi-transparent .PNG images). The see through cloud effect is rather simple. I created the clouds on a transparent background in Photoshop and lowered the opacity on the various cloud layers. Then it was a simple matter of saving the file as a transparent PNG and setting it up in an extra div in the code base provided by the CSS Zen Garden. The CSS fixed-positioning applied to the clouds allows it to float above the rest of the content flow and hides the clouds from versions of Internet Explorer.
Overall, this latest submission is by far my favorite layout of the bunch.
